About this app

Adds a button/tile to the quick settings panel to take screenshots.

After install you need to add the button/tile to your quick settings and then grant the permissions to record screen captures and save images to the internal storage.

Features:

Note:
🎦 When you take a screenshot, the "Google Cast" icon will appear in the status bar and it will be visible in the screenshot image.

Permissions:

❏ android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE "Photos/Media/Files and Storage"
This is required to save the screenshot files on the internal storage of your device.

❏ android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE
Since Android 9/Pie this permission is required to take screenshots. It basically means that this app can run without showing itself. However the app will always show a notification when it is running.

Hiding the app icon:

In the app settings you can hide the app icon from your launcher. You can still access the app by long pressing the tile in your quick settings. Unfortunately, Android 10 does not allow hiding an app anymore.

Ratings and reviews

After trying several apps, I finally came across this one. It does exactly as advertised! I have a cheaper phone where the native screenshot is not enabled, this does the trick just fine. On top of that it is not intrusive, always stays on the screen no matter what, and more importantly doesn't have any annoying ads or pop ups. It acts just like a tool!

Needed an app to take screenshots without the onscreen flash (which triggers headaches for me) and this app does the trick! Accessibility win! Also the Play Store says it never saves any user data, which makes it safer from a privacy standpoint than 99.9% of apps out there. Screenshots automatically save to the screenshot folder on my phone. 5 stars from me!

Install app. Slide notifications shade down. Locate and drag Screenshot "tile" to the top where your "active" tiles are. Then give "accessibility permission" back in the app's configuration settings. Done. Or, you can get into a little more complicated customization. I used "Power Shade" and "One Shade" just to enable a screenshot tile in the notifications, and both of them would chronically quit and revert to the stock shade.
